WHY CAT WHY is a relatively new iteration of the many bands we have all played in together or separately over the past years in the Boston area.
Suzanne Boucher has sung and recorded with the band TVS for the past 30 years singing traditional gospel and blues. During that time she also recorded with many local musicians from Livingston Taylor, Mason Daring and Jeanie Stahl and Robin Lane and many others. She also sang on the movie soundtracks of Dick Tracy, Lianna, The Secret of Roan Innish, Shallow Grave and Key Exchange. She has sung with her own original band BOB which had a more indie pop feel for the past seven years.
Sandy Martin has been a mainstay of the Boston music scene for many years, starting with John Lincoln Wright and Girls Night Out. She has been a studio player with many groups, owning her own Big Girls Studio.
Kathy Burkly has been in a rhythm section playing drums to Sandy Martin's bass in both John Lincoln Wright band and Grils Night Out among many others and is a regular studio player also.
John Pearson has been playing guitar with his musical family since age 12, starting out gigging with his father. He moved to Boston for college and focused on jazz and rock, playing gigs from Ryles to the Rat.
The jazzy bluesy original tunes of WHY CAT WHY are perfect for this crew of seasoned Boston musicians.
